8/2000 - 9/2000 Network Six Warwick, RI
Freelance Web Designer
I was contracted by Network Six as a freelance web designer.

This project was the design and implementation of a website for one of their clients. This project entailed me the design, and creation of a working website, which would then have the ability to have e-commerce integrated into it. So the goal of this project was not only to develop a web site that was easily navigatable for the end user, was eye catching, but also was scalable.

This project was done over a six week period under the supervision of the project manager April Cox.

9/1998 - 8/2000 Rhode Island College WebTeam Providence / RI
WebTeam Supervisor
I worked for two years as the Rhode Island College (RIC) Web Team Supervisor which entails the duties of supervision and creation web site for RIC. I functioned as the webteam foreman for the RIC WebMaster. The WebMaster, my immediate supervisor, and I met with the college's many administrative and academic departments in order to help them form a web presence. From there the projects moved to the RIC webteam which I helped supervise. The departmental sites were then designed by myself or one of the other webteam workers. If I was not designing the site personally I helped create and point the project in the proper direction with the college's current image. In short my duties were to meet with departments (clients) and help them flesh out their ideas, then assign the project, oversee the web site creation and also maintain current websites.

-B.A. Graphic Design, Faculty of Arts and Sciences

The B.A. in Graphic Design is a curriculum in which students are exposed to various art influences and have a traditional art background starting with Foundations courses of Drawing and Design and then moving the student into his/her foucus area. The BA from the Art Department at Rhode Island College is a strong one because it affords the student the chance to have many free electives in which they can choose from any of the other art courses or other academics course to help spawn creativity and new problem solving skills of the students. Also this will help broden the prespectives and minds of the students.

The Graphic Design focus starts the student in the tradiontal methods of cut and paste creation, and then moves them into the area of elctronic designing while still maintaining the idea of creating an idea and then executing it on the computer. The classes for the degree deal with the idea of creating a visual experience for audience through different projects which range from logo, business letterhead, and evelope creation to full four color eight-page double spread broshure. The professors also push the students to learn the standard programs of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Pagemaker, and Quark Express. They also embrace the new multimedia aspects of Graphic Design projects with Macromedia Director, Flash, Dreamweaver, and Fireworks. All of this knowledge helps the student execute their ideas for their projects with new fresh ideas and methods.
