Gutenburg Poster>> Thanks for making me draw thumbnails Lee :)

This Poster won me 1st place in the National Gutenburg Poster contest. The goal of the contest is to create a poster that represents the ideas, feeling, theme, and process of the Printing Industry. Also the design need to have Ben Franklin present because he is the Father of American Printing.

I chose to use the hand because it show the physicalness of printing and design; the idea that there is a human involved in the action not just a machine. Also I wanted to show the use of technology through the floppy disk but to reach back to the historical aspect with the image of Ben Franklin to add contrast.

In the end the poster represents the theme that we hold the technology and knowledge in our hands to help advance the Printing Industry.
